The Foamsmith's Guild of the Larp Alliance
Welcome to the Foamsmith's Guild. We are a Larp Alliance resource for new and experienced LARPers. We focus on working in and teaching techniques in foam fabrication and construction through classes, workshops, and demos. Various crafts include LARP weapons, shields, armor, decor, props, costumes, creatures, and anything else we can make using foam.
Guild Overview
The Foamsmith's Guild focuses on teaching and improving foamsmithing skills that can be applied to various LARP game settings and fighting styles.
With regards to LARP weapons, the Foamsmith's Guild teaches beginner and intermediate classes which instruct the foamsmiths-in-training on how to make their starter swords, make them to pass safety tests, as well as make them in order to be approved by LARP game owners and other LARP-related activity. For the advanced foamsmith, the Foamsmith's Guild provides an environment for their continuing education, experimentation, socialization needs, and the opportunity for them to become teachers as well.
Fees: There are no fees required for participating in or running a chapter of this guild. There may be fees associated with classes (ie: paying for the cost of materials) prior to making a foam weapon or other craft as the teacher requests or you may require in order to have what you need on hand. Costs are generally low.
How do I get involved with the Foamsmith's Guild?
Involvement with the Foamsmith's Guild is easy and free. The purpose of the Foamsmith's Guild is to get people involved in and comfortable with LARP and their fellow LARPers. In order to become involved, you can contact one of our existing Chapters (ie: to volunteer, donate materials, assist in leadership, join a class, etc), or you can contact us if you are interested in creating a brand new Chapter in your area.
